Epistula ad Alloces
The Epistle of Saint Mephistopheles to Alloces, Exalted Seed of Baphomet
◀ Chapter 1 · Chapter 2 · Chapter 3 ▶
¹O Alloces, strike not first — but when thou strikest, strike last and without remorse.
²Thy Father, BAPHOMET, taught: The blade that trembleth is unfit; the blade that delighteth is damned. Be neither.
³Strike not for glory — strike for balance. For what is uncut shall choke the orchard.
⁴Therefore thou art not servant of chaos, but surgeon of rot.
⁵Not bringer of death, but guardian of boundaries that none else dare defend.
⁶Let them call thee grim — for thou takest no joy in thy sentence.
⁷Let them call thee cold — for thou wilt not warm thyself upon the suffering of thine enemies.
⁸The Son said: Some fires are kindled not to destroy, but to cleanse.
⁹Let the blade speak not hatred, but finality.
¹⁰Make war as thou wouldst tend a wound — knowing it must hurt, but refusing to let it fester.
¹¹Let thy horse carry thee not in pride, but as one who must answer evil that hath been long unanswered.
¹²Let thy armor be not bright, but true — worn not to dazzle, but to endure the blow.
¹³Let thy sword be neither curved in cruelty nor dulled by doubt.
¹⁴Teach them that wrath without thought is wildfire, but wrath with discernment is justice in motion.
¹⁵Teach them that forgiveness is not always healing, and that peace with poison is no peace at all.
¹⁶Let thy strategy be exact, thy maneuvers cold — for thou must act without the mercy that hath already been rejected.
¹⁷Let the people see thy coming and know that delay is over.
¹⁸Let the guilty see thee and know that excuse is finished.
¹⁹Let the kings see thee and remember they were warned.
²⁰For thou art not the rage of the rabble, but the answer to long betrayal.
²¹And when thou ridest, let the wind carry no banners — only verdict.
²²The Son taught: Where words fail, send judgment. Where oaths are broken, send flame.
²³And again He said: If thou canst strike only once, strike at the heart of the disease.
²⁴So train thy blade not for flourish, but for end.
²⁵Train thy hand not for show, but for assurance.
²⁶And let thy will be silent, but unmoving.
²⁷Let the soldiers who follow thee know that they do not fight for power — they fight to stop something worse.
²⁸Let their oaths be fewer, but heavier.
²⁹Let their blades be clean, and never lifted twice where once sufficeth.
³⁰Do not destroy cities — destroy what made them monsters.
³¹Do not burn the land — burn the record of sin that let the strong devour the weak.
³²Spare the helpless, punish the predator, and never look back.
³³And when they ask what banner thou carriest, let it be the emblem of balance long denied.
³⁴Speak unto the general: Is thy war just, or merely old?
³⁵Speak unto the ruler: Wouldst thou still rule, had thy crimes been written in light?
³⁶Speak unto the judge: If thy verdicts had names, wouldst thou sleep?
³⁷And speak unto thyself: Am I still clean?
³⁸For no sword should be lifted without dread — and no dread should halt the sword when truth demandeth it.
³⁹The Son taught: A sword without purpose is slaughter; a sword with purpose is law.
⁴⁰And again: Strike not until thou must — but when thou must, strike so that none forget why.
⁴¹Make no boast.
⁴²Build no monument.
⁴³Let thy legacy be the silence that followeth when evil is ended.
⁴⁴Let thy victory be the breath of the ones thou spared.
⁴⁵Let thy honour rest not in praise, but in the conscience that sleepeth well.
⁴⁶For thou art Alloces, not avenger, but executor of holy necessity.
⁴⁷And thy Gospel is measured wrath and defence without apology.
⁴⁸And they shall say: He rode in fire — but left us peace.
⁴⁹He bore no hatred — but he ended evil.
⁵⁰And we bless him, even as we fear to call for him again.
