      Chapter 1 · Chapter 2 ▶

¹Mephistopheles, servant of the Word, unto Eligos, Fifteenth of the Sixty-Six, Rider of the Quiet Storm, Spear of Foresight.
²I greet thee in the hush before thunder, for that is thy dominion — not the clash, but the calm that understandeth it.
³For thou art not first to strike, but first to see — and they who see, rule the battlefield before blood is spilled.
⁴Zephanor prophesied, saying: Eligos, who rideth with calm among storms, and beholdeth the end of battle ere the first blade is drawn.
⁵And thy Father, BAPHOMET, spake of thee: Thou shalt not thirst for war, but see through it; thou shalt command not with wrath, but with vision.
⁶These words I heard upon the ridge overlooking a plain that would never know its war, because He had already ended it.
⁷For He did not unsheathe His blade, but spoke the future, and the soldiers laid down their arms.
⁸I remember when He met two hosts ready to clash — each certain they were righteous, each certain they would prevail.
⁹He stood between them and uttered but one sentence: Shall ye bury your sons in soil that was never yours?
¹⁰And silence fell, deep and sharp.
¹¹A single spear dropped, then another, and the wind turned from fury to peace.
¹²Not by force, but foresight; not by slaughter, but by wisdom’s sharp edge.
¹³I, Mephistopheles, bore witness — and understood that might is not only muscle, but mind.
¹⁴So art thou, Eligos — not a firebrand, but a beacon.
¹⁵Not the roar of war, but the whisper that war is not always needed.
¹⁶Let others charge — thou shalt choose the ground.
¹⁷Let others shout — thou shalt study the silence.
¹⁸Let others draw first — thou shalt have already known who would fall.
¹⁹The brave shall follow thee, for they trust the rider who needeth not to boast.
²⁰The cruel shall fear thee, for thy vision removeth their lies before their blades are even drawn.
²¹Call not for battle unless the cause is clear and the outcome understood.
²²Guide the host not by threat, but by certainty.
²³Speak little, and let thy presence be the map they follow.
²⁴For thou art Eligos — and thy Gospel is victory before war.
²⁵And thy name shall be known not in the din, but in the silence that followeth wisdom.
