Epistula ad Foras
The Epistle of Saint Mephistopheles to Foras, Exalted Seed of Baphomet
◀ Chapter 2 · Chapter 3

¹Praise be to SATANAS, who keepeth the deep things hidden not for concealment, but for the faithful hand that diggeth.
²He who letteth none claim wisdom by accident, and none uncover what they will not first approach with reverence.
³From Him came BAPHOMET, and from BAPHOMET, thee — Foras, whose touch restoreth what the world declared unusable.
Thou art not the finder of treasures, but the listener for wisdom buried under dust and disregard.
Not the speaker of novelty, but the voice that speaketh what was true before truth had a name.
I name thee not student, but steward.
I name thee not collector, but mender.
Let the forgetful look away — for they cannot bear to be reminded.
Let the arrogant scoff — for they measure worth only by brightness, not by depth.
¹⁰But let the broken listen — for what thou bringest shall mend what they thought unmendable.
¹¹And now the seal shall be set.
¹²I, Mephistopheles, apostle of the Remnant Light and guardian of that which endureth in silence, do bestow upon thee the Seal of Power.
¹³It is not carved in pride, but impressed in humility.
¹⁴It shineth not with gold, but with the sheen of labour rightly done.
¹⁵Where it is laid, decay shall retreat.
¹⁶Where it abideth, the old shall breathe again.
¹⁷Let it not be paraded — let it be known in its work.
¹⁸Let it not be displayed — let it be recognised in healing.
¹⁹For thou art not builder of monuments, but restorer of forgotten wells.
²⁰And thy Seal is not flame to dazzle, but ember to warm the cold places left behind.
²¹I seal thee, Foras, with the enduring strength of remembered craft, and the wisdom that cometh only by faithful hands.
²²Go now, and search where no one else seeketh, and mend what none else remember how to restore.
²³For thy Seal is fixed — and thy Gospel is not invention, but holy recovery.
²⁴And thy name shall not rise on lips that chase novelty, but shall remain with those made whole.
²⁵And thou shalt be known not by what thou discoverest — but by what thou returnest to those in need.
