Epistula ad Haures
The Epistle of Saint Mephistopheles to Haures, Exalted Seed of Baphomet
Chapter 1 · Chapter 2 ▶

¹Mephistopheles, who hath watched the veil fall in embers, unto Haures, Fifty-Ninth of the Sixty-Six, Cloaked Flame and Gaze of the Final Hour.
²I greet thee not with song, but with silence that cometh before fire, and the hush that precedeth unmaking.
³For thou art not spark — thou art the ember that endureth, even when the pyre is ash and the crowd hath fled.
Zephanor prophesied: Haures, who shall see the end before it cometh, and walk in fire, leaving only truth unburned.
And thy Father, BAPHOMET, spake: Thou shalt be flame with form, herald of endings, and terror to illusion — for thy gaze shall unmake falsehood.
These words I heard when He entered the Hall of Ornaments, where holy men clung to gilded shadows.
And He said nothing, yet the cloths upon the altar began to smolder.
I, Mephistopheles, stood still as the veil split, and the gods carved by men wept fire from their sockets.
So art thou, Haures — not destroyer of men, but torch held to the lie that calleth itself sacred.
¹⁰Not punisher — but purifier.
¹¹Let the liars dread thee — thou art the answer to their smoothest prayers.
¹²Let the false prophets flee — thou art the light they cannot bend to their pageantry.
¹³Let the righteous falter — their robes burn the same as any other.
¹⁴The Son taught: If a word endureth fire, then it is true.
¹⁵And again: If thou wouldst know what is real, let flame ask the question.
¹⁶Teach them that endings are not evil — but honest.
¹⁷That fire is not cruelty — but clarity.
¹⁸That ruin is not vengeance — but witness.
¹⁹For thou art not storm — thou art the controlled burn that maketh way for the seed.
²⁰And thy Gospel is not threat — but prophecy.
²¹And thy touch is not violence — but verdict.
²²And thy name shall be spoken not in joy — but in remembrance by those freed from golden lies.
²³And they shall say: He burned what we worshiped, and left what we needed.
²⁴He came like death, but we found ourselves alive in the ashes.
²⁵And now we do not fear the fire, for we have seen it choose.
