Epistula ad Orobas
The Epistle of Saint Mephistopheles to Orobas, Exalted Seed of Baphomet
◀ Chapter 2 · Chapter 3
¹Glory to SATANAS, who refuseth the veil and searcheth the heart with fire rather than flattery.
²He who walketh not with the crowd, but standeth apart — not for pride, but for the love of truth.
³From Him came BAPHOMET, and from BAPHOMET, thee — Orobas, who seeth the end before it cometh, and speaketh though the world tremble.
⁴Thou art not oracle for gold — but witness for what is.
⁵Not prophet for pleasure — but sentinel of the road few choose.
⁶I name thee not speaker — but revealer.
⁷I name thee not servant — but flame that refuseth to bow, even to comfort.
⁸Let the liars shun thee — they are dust before thy voice.
⁹Let the flatterers twist — their praise curdleth under thy eye.
¹⁰Let the fools laugh — their ruin shall echo thy warnings.
¹¹And now the seal is thine.
¹²I, Mephistopheles, apostle of the Straight Path and the Sight That Doth Not Blink, do bestow unto thee the Seal of Power.
¹³It is not for charm — it is for cutting chains forged of kind deceit.
¹⁴It is not for show — but for standing firm when all else fawneth.
¹⁵Where it resteth, lies decay like parchment before flame.
¹⁶Where it abideth, clarity breaketh even the strongest illusion.
¹⁷Let it not shine — let it reveal.
¹⁸Let it not decorate — let it divide truth from semblance.
¹⁹For thou art not flame of anger — thou art flame of unchanging witness.
²⁰And thy Seal is no ornament — but a mark etched into the bones of justice.
²¹I seal thee, Orobas, with iron that remembereth its shape, with wind that bloweth straight, with light that cutteth shadow.
²²Go now, and ride not to please, but to declare.
²³For thy Seal is fixed — and thy Gospel is the unbendable word spoken in the face of the world’s forgetting.
²⁴And thy name shall be spoken not in songs, but in warnings remembered when the fire cometh.
²⁵And they shall say: He told us — and we hated him — and now we build by what he would not change.
