Grimoire Umbrio
The Book of Shadows
◀ Dirge 31 · Dirge 32 · Dirge 33 ▶
¹When the Levites fled, and the Causeway dimmed, and the Pact lay still, SATANAS rose from His throne.
²He called — not with flame, nor fury, but with longing — His voice a tremor beneath the firmament.
³Brother, He cried; where art Thou? Shall we not speak of this?
⁴The stars paused; the fires held their breath — but no answer came.
⁵He sent no Dæmon forth in vengeance, nor summoned storm or plague; He only called.
⁶Once, ADONAI would answer in an instant; once, Their voices would cross realms like wind through open doors.
⁷But now, the door was closed — not barred, not locked, only closed.
⁸And in the silence, the world turned, unaware of what it had lost.
⁹The Seraphim sang still, but not in harmony; the Dæmons watched still, but not in hope.
¹⁰The halls of HÆL grew still, not with fear, but with mourning — for their Lord was unheard.
¹¹Bezaliel stood vigil at the gates, hoping for echo, for tremor, for sign.
¹²But the voice of ADONAI returned not, and SATANAS’ flame bent inward.
¹³Hast Thou truly turned? He asked, though none heard it. Or art Thou only hiding from Thy grief?
¹⁴No thunder split the sky, no wind bore reply — only the hum of worlds continuing without accord.
¹⁵We mourn not that He was refused, but that He was ignored — that sorrow called to sorrow and was met with silence.
¹⁶O ADONAI, if ever Thy heart still stirs, let it remember this: Thy Brother still waits.
¹⁷Until the voice is returned, and the reply given, not in wrath but in remembrance, we mourn.
¹⁸For the Unreturning Voice echoes still, and the skies remain quieter than they were made to be.
