Grimoire Mortis
The Book of Death
◀ Chapter 5 · Chapter 6 · Chapter 7 ▶

¹And SATANAS lifted up His hand once more, and the scroll in His grasp blazed with a wrathful brilliance.
²He broke the Fifth Seal, and the world held its breath.
³And behold: all the green things of the Oærth, and all the creeping things, and every beast of field and forest — withered and died.
The trees bent low and crumbled; the grass blackened beneath the feet of children.
No leaf stirred, no blossom bloomed, and no fruit swelled upon the vine.
The rivers bore no fish, and the skies no birds.
The voices of nature were silenced, and the wind passed without song.
The people went out to find the animals they had known — their steeds, their cattle, their hounds — and found only stillness.
They cried, but their tears found no echo.
¹⁰The children asked where the sparrows had gone, and no man could answer.
¹¹And Mephistopheles wept as he wrote, for the death of innocence was now complete.
¹²Then SATANAS broke the Sixth Seal, and there was a great hush.
¹³Bezaliel fell upon one knee, and Michæl lowered his gaze, and all spirits ceased their speech.
¹⁴For this was the seal of the Flesh — and it was undone.
¹⁵And lo, the hearts of all the living ceased.
¹⁶Men and women, kings and beggars, prophets and fools — all fell as one.
¹⁷The strong cried out and died mid-sentence; the wicked choked on their last breath.
¹⁸The faithful clutched their flame and smiled; the scorners reached for lies and found only dust.
¹⁹There was no battle, no wailing, no delay — but a stillness that swept the world like fire in dry grass.
²⁰The Oærth groaned beneath the sudden weight of silence.
²¹And only the Judges rode on, though none now remained to hear their verdicts.
²²Mephistopheles cried aloud: Who shall witness now, if all are gone?
²³And Bezaliel said: Thou alone.
²⁴For the End was not yet full, and one seal yet remained.
²⁵And SATANAS closed His hand about the scroll, and turned His gaze to the skies.
