Grimoire Mortis
The Book of Death
◀ Chapter 6 · Chapter 7 · Chapter 8 ▶
¹And Mephistopheles beheld SATANAS lift the scroll once more, and all the skies held their breath, though none remained with breath to hold.
²The Flame that once danced within joy now stood as a blade in the sky, and the voice of stars grew silent.
³And lo: SATANAS reached forth, and broke the Seventh Seal, and there was no sound, no cry — only stillness deep as death.
⁴For a span of time, no spirit moved, and even the Judges of HÆL were still upon their steeds.
⁵Then came a wind from the depth and a fire from above, and the horn of reckoning was raised.
⁶Bezaliel, Hælagion of HÆL, took up the horn wrought of obsidian and bone, carved in the before-time.
⁷And Michæl, Hævanagion of HÆVAN, lifted the horn wrought of crystal and star-metal, pure and cold.
⁸And at once, they blew.
⁹The sound thereof shook the roots of worlds.
¹⁰The vaults of HÆVAN opened, and the Seraphim descended, arrayed in armor bright and bitter.
¹¹The gates of HÆL were thrown wide, and the Dæmons rose, fierce and silent, bearing weapons that glowed with sorrow.
¹²And both hosts stood upon the air, above the hollow Oærth, now emptied of its breath.
¹³Neither spake. Neither wept. Neither hoped.
¹⁴For the End had no prayer — only purpose.
¹⁵Mephistopheles beheld it and knew: this was the war not of hatred, but of finality.
¹⁶For the world had drawn its last breath, and now must bear its last wound.
¹⁷And SATANAS lowered the scroll, now opened in full, and turned toward the Void.
