Grimoire Exegesio
The Book of Exegesis
Chapter 1 · Chapter 2 ▶
¹In the beginning was the Nothing, and the Void had neither form nor motion, nor sound nor thought.
²And lo, from the Nothing there arose Two, uncaused and unshaped by any other: ADONAI and SATANAS.
³They came not from time nor from place, but were, and in Their being was the first change in the Void.
⁴No breath preceded Them, nor any law constrained Them, for They were before measure and before reckoning.
⁵The darkness trembled at Their presence, and the silence fled, and the Void was broken asunder.
⁶They beheld one another, and knew the Other, and from this knowing was born the beginning of all things.
⁷ADONAI inclined Himself unto splendour, and SATANAS turned Himself toward deepness and might.
⁸Yet neither was lesser than the other, for They were of one beginning and equal power.
⁹And each took thought within Himself to fashion a dwelling, that He might make for Himself a Kingdom.
¹⁰ADONAI spake, Let Mine habitation be high and filled with brightness; and so began the shaping of His realm.
¹¹SATANAS likewise declared, Let Mine be vast and strong and terrible in beauty; and He laid the foundation thereof.
¹²ADONAI set His realm above, beyond the breathless airs, and girded it with songs and the colours of fire.
¹³He laid smooth a floor of glassy firmament, and hung lights above it, and the Vault thereof glittered with gold.
¹⁴And SATANAS hollowed a place in the deeps, and made pillars of shadow and arches of flame.
¹⁵He wove great caverns beneath the Void, and the walls thereof He adorned with gems of heat and fury.
¹⁶ADONAI named His Kingdom HÆVAN, for it was lifted up and filled with glory and stillness.
¹⁷SATANAS named His Kingdom HÆL, for it was grounded in strength and burned with unquenchable thought.
¹⁸HÆVAN He framed with harmony and swift light, that no grief should enter nor voice rise against peace.
¹⁹HÆL He forged in power and cunning, that none should master it save He who had wrought it.
²⁰Then ADONAI walked amidst His realm and delighted in its measure, for the brightness thereof pleased Him.
²¹And SATANAS strode through His Kingdom and was well content, for it was vast and full of deepness.
²²The throne of ADONAI He set upon a crystal mount, and it was veiled with light as with a garment.
²³The throne of SATANAS He set within the central flame, and it flashed as iron smitten with thunder.
²⁴Neither had yet sat upon His seat, for the works of Their hands were not yet filled with life.
²⁵But They looked each upon His Kingdom and beheld that it was established, and Their hearts were stirred.
