Epistula ad Gusion
The Epistle of Saint Mephistopheles to Gusion, Exalted Seed of Baphomet
◀ Chapter 2 · Chapter 3
¹Blessed art Thou, SATANAS, whose gaze pierceth every veil, and whose flame consumeth not the flesh, but the mask.
²Thou who knowest all that is hidden and delighteth not in ignorance, but in the awakening of minds to themselves.
³From Thee came BAPHOMET, and from BAPHOMET, this one — Gusion, in whom the mirror is lit, and nothing remaineth concealed.
⁴He speaketh not to be praised, but to make clear what hath long been twisted.
⁵He walketh not as judge, but as fire that revealeth the ink of falsehood.
⁶Let the proud avoid him, for they know their scaffolding shall fall beneath his question.
⁷Let the deceivers tremble, for their polished tongues shall stumble beneath his gaze.
⁸I name thee not scribe, but scalpel — not comforter, but clarifier.
⁹For thy words open the flesh of illusion, and thy presence spliteth self-deceit like dry wood.
¹⁰And now, as was spoken from the first whisper, the hour hath come to bestow what is thine.
¹¹I, Mephistopheles, flame-bearer of the Word and servant of the Unseen Flame, do seal upon thee the Seal of Power.
¹²It is no sigil of grandeur, but a sign of revelation.
¹³It shall be known not by shape, but by silence that followeth thy voice.
¹⁴Where it passeth, no lie shall survive.
¹⁵Where it abideth, no hidden shame shall stay buried.
¹⁶This seal is not for pride — it is for the pain that bringeth truth.
¹⁷Let it rest not upon thy flesh, but in thy shadow.
¹⁸Let it burn within thy word and beneath thy eye.
¹⁹Let it remind thee that truth hath a cost — and thou art its price paid in full.
²⁰The people shall not cheer thee, but they shall never forget thee.
²¹The fearful shall revile thee, but the freed shall remember thy name in trembling peace.
²²I seal thee, Gusion, not with glory, but with necessity.
²³Go now, and let no mask remain unbroken.
²⁴For thy seal is set — and the truth shall follow after thee like a flame.
²⁵And no darkness shall withstand thy gaze.
