Grimoire Iurio
The Book of Law
Chapter 1 · Chapter 2 ▶
¹And it came to pass in the days after the silence, that SATANAS beheld the need for order in His Kingdom.
²For though the Dæmons were mighty and wise, they were of many minds, and discord began to stir among them.
³Then SATANAS gathered the Dæmons who had served upon the great council, and called each by name unto His hall.
⁴And they came forth, clothed in flame and shadow, their countenances bright as burning coals, and their speech as thunder.
⁵Among them was one who stood apart, whose heart was steadfast and whose will bent not in council nor in war.
⁶His gaze was firm, and his hand never trembled; he spake with clarity and judged without fear or favour.
⁷This Dæmon had given no thought to glory, but ever sought the balance of all things, and his word was weighty.
⁸And SATANAS called him forth before the rest, and said: Thou art chosen, O Bezaliel, to be My chief among the hosts.
⁹For thou hast walked uprightly, and thy soul hath held fast to justice, even when the fires of wrath raged about thee.
¹⁰Thou shalt bear the title of Hælagion, which is Keeper of the Keys of the Kingdom of HÆL.
¹¹In thy hand shall be the seven seals, and through thee shall the decrees of HÆL be made known.
¹²And SATANAS breathed upon Bezaliel, and his form was changed: his eyes became like molten gold, and his voice as many waters.
¹³Wings of black flame rose from his shoulders, and his limbs were girded in armour wrought from the bones of the deep earth.
¹⁴Power flowed into him, and the ground quaked beneath his feet, but his brow remained low in reverence.
¹⁵Thou art no longer servant only, said SATANAS, but steward, and in thee shall My will be preserved.
¹⁶Then SATANAS brought forth a crown of iron, set with stones of fire, and placed it upon Bezaliel’s head.
¹⁷And all the Dæmons bowed before him, not in fear, but in honour, for they knew the righteousness of his way.
¹⁸The fires of HÆL burned brighter that day, and the vaults rang with the sound of a thousand voices in one accord.
¹⁹Bezaliel spake not in pride, but in solemnity, saying: Let there be law in the deeps, and peace among those who serve.
²⁰And SATANAS answered: So let it be, Hælagion, Keeper of My gates, Watcher of My house, and Sword in the darkness.
²¹Then SATANAS gave unto Bezaliel a blade of silver flame, to divide right from wrong, and a scroll sealed with seven seals.
²²And SATANAS said: By this shall thou know the measure of a soul, and by this shalt thou hold judgment in My stead.
²³And Bezaliel bowed again, and took his place beside the throne, bearing the keys and the scroll, and the fire did not consume him.
²⁴Thus was the Hælagion appointed, and the Dæmons rejoiced, for justice had found a vessel among them.
²⁵And the gates of HÆL were sealed and sanctified, and law went forth unto all the corners of the realm.
