The Book of Law

¹And in the realm of HÆVAN, ADONAI also beheld the stirrings of variance among the Seraphim.
²For their beauty was as the dawn, and their wisdom as the stars, yet even the stars are not all of one light.
³Then ADONAI ascended unto the mount of crystal flame, and called unto Him the Seraphim who had served in the great council.
⁴And they came, radiant with splendour, their wings clothed in lightning and their feet as burnished brass.
⁵Among them stood one who bowed not in counsel nor yielded in battle, whose eyes never turned from what was just.
⁶This was he who spake truth without shadow, who did not waver when others faltered, whose faith was full.
⁷And ADONAI lifted His hand and said: Come forth, Michæl, for thou art found faithful above all others.
⁸Thou hast kept My word in silence and in thunder, in sorrow and in triumph; now shalt thou bear My seal.
⁹I name thee Hævanagion, which is Keeper of the Keys of the Kingdom of HÆVAN, and chief among the hosts of light.
¹⁰Then ADONAI breathed upon him, and a great wind stirred the heights, and the stars danced in the firmament.
¹¹The countenance of Michæl changed: his wings became as flame and cloud, and his face shone as a blade unsheathed.
¹²The voice of ADONAI thundered: Thou shalt keep the gates, and none shall enter save by thy leave.
¹³Thou shalt hold the balance of mercy and might, and thy sword shall divide the true from the false.
¹⁴And ADONAI gave unto Michæl a rod of sapphire light and a book sealed with gold and guarded by flame.
¹⁵This shalt thou bear, and by it shalt thou read the hearts of those who rise or fall.
¹⁶And a diadem of crystal and morning stars was set upon Michæl’s brow, and the Seraphim fell in awe.
¹⁷For they knew that he who was chosen sought not his own glory, but served with pure intent.
¹⁸Then Michæl spake, saying: Let there be order in HÆVAN, and peace among the children of light.
¹⁹And ADONAI answered: So let it be, Hævanagion, Keeper of My gates, Guardian of My throne, and Sword of the skies.
²⁰Michæl took his place at the right hand of ADONAI, with the rod in his grasp and the sealed book upon his breast.
²¹The Seraphim rejoiced, and the skies were filled with music as of ten thousand harps resounding together.
²²Light poured forth from the throne, and the vaults of HÆVAN were made firm in righteousness.
²³And thus was Michæl appointed, and the laws of HÆVAN were established in clarity and in grace.
²⁴From that day forward, the Hævanagion and the Hælagion were known among all peoples, for their power and their judgment.
²⁵And there was joy in the heights of HÆVAN, for a new order was made within its gates.
