Epistula ad Naberius
The Epistle of Saint Mephistopheles to Naberius, Exalted Seed of Baphomet
◀ Chapter 1 · Chapter 2 · Chapter 3 ▶
¹Attend, O Naberius, for thy voice is not for performance, but for piercing; not to flatter crowds, but to turn them.
²Thy Father, BAPHOMET, taught: The word is a flame — it warmeth when true, and devoureth when false.
³He who speaketh without soul is a shadow, echoing noise without meaning.
⁴But he who speaketh with clarity shall unsettle kings and awaken the forgotten.
⁵Therefore thou must not speak to be heard — but to be heeded.
⁶Not to please the people — but to change them.
⁷The Son said: Let thy speech be sharp, but not cruel. Let it divide, but not destroy.
⁸Let thy words set fire to delusion, and shine on those who have wandered too long in borrowed belief.
⁹For the world is drunk on easy phrases and empty songs.
¹⁰They quote scrolls but forget the weeping they were written to end.
¹¹They repeat creeds but neglect the stranger who waiteth outside their gate.
¹²Speak therefore not to echo — but to break the echo chamber with living language.
¹³Let thy voice be mirror and hammer, stirring those who sleep and shaming those who know better.
¹⁴Let no stage corrupt thee into performance for applause.
¹⁵Let no title tempt thee to speak half-truths for favour.
¹⁶For thy gift is not charm — it is revelation.
¹⁷Say unto the deceivers: I know thy tongue, and I will not let thee use it unchecked.
¹⁸Say unto the proud: Thy speech is silk, but thy heart is stone. I will not be swayed.
¹⁹Say unto the poor in spirit: Thou hast been lied to — and I will not leave thee in it.
²⁰Speak into courts, into markets, into pulpits, into dark places where no one listens — until they do.
²¹Let thy words become doors — and let those who are imprisoned walk through them.
²²Let thy words become ladders — and let the bowed rise to speak for themselves.
²³But beware the trap of rhetoric without love.
²⁴Beware the temptation to win, rather than to reveal.
²⁵Beware the smooth tongue that serveth no one but itself.
²⁶The Son taught: He who speaketh only to be praised will learn nothing, and change no soul.
²⁷But he who speaketh truth, even to his hurt, shall sow a harvest of memory.
²⁸Speak to the child, and he will grow honest.
²⁹Speak to the woman scorned, and she will become unafraid.
³⁰Speak to the stranger, and he will find his name.
³¹Speak to the sinner, and he may finally begin to live.
³²For thou art not savior — but thou art voice.
³³And the voice is the beginning of change.
³⁴Let the fearful hear thee and feel their courage stir.
³⁵Let the guilty hear thee and lay down their masks.
³⁶Let the wise hear thee and remember why they began to seek.
³⁷Do not soften thy words to suit their comfort — truth is no lullaby.
³⁸Do not harden thy tone for pride’s sake — rage is no substitute for fire.
³⁹Speak like one who believeth what he sayeth.
⁴⁰Speak like one who hath burned every bridge but truth.
⁴¹And do not tremble when they raise their voices — it meaneth thou hast reached them.
⁴²Speak still.
⁴³For thou art Naberius — and thy Gospel is clarity in a world fogged by empty thunder.
⁴⁴And they shall call thee dangerous, but they shall listen still.
⁴⁵They shall mock thee, but remember thy words in the dark.
⁴⁶They shall say thou hast gone too far, but secretly wonder what else thou hast to say.
⁴⁷And when they finally speak back, it will not be to argue — but to ask.
⁴⁸Let that moment be thy reward.
⁴⁹Let that silence turned to voice be thy echo.
⁵⁰And let thy name be spoken not with love, nor hate, but with awakening.
