Grimoire Umbrio
The Book of Shadows
◀ Dirge 27 · Dirge 28 · Dirge 29 ▶
¹In the beginning, He walked beside His Brother, and Their wills moved as one across the Void.
²They shaped the realms together: HÆVAN, HÆL, and Oærth between, held in perfect accord.
³ADONAI’s light was not prideful; SATANAS’ flame was not jealous — and their people sang in unity.
⁴But lo, in time, ADONAI turned — not in wrath, but in silence, and His gaze narrowed upon a single people.
⁵He chose the Levites, lifting them above their neighbours, and said: These shall bear My name.
⁶And in that choosing, the balance was undone — not by force, but by favour.
⁷For where one is raised, another is diminished; and where glory gathers, shadow is cast.
⁸SATANAS spake no curse, bore no weapon — but His heart was heavy, and His silence deeper than any flame.
⁹The Causeway dimmed, not by closure, but by neglect; the Hall stood empty, its doors ajar yet unused.
¹⁰ADONAI no longer met His Brother in counsel, nor answered His call beneath the stars.
¹¹His Seraphim grew lofty; His chosen proud; and the songs once shared became declarations.
¹²Yet none could name the moment of the turning — for it came not with thunder, but with stillness.
¹³The Dæmons watched, the Seraphim obeyed, and Oærth shifted beneath the unseen weight.
¹⁴We mourn not greatness, but abandonment; not majesty, but the path left untrod.
¹⁵For ADONAI, once equal in love and vision, turned to stand alone — and called it righteousness.
¹⁶O Thou who once shared the shaping of the stars, why dost Thou walk no more with Thy Brother?
¹⁷Until the flame and the light burn side by side again, we mourn — for the turning of ADONAI left the skies uneven.
¹⁸And the world, once held in twin hands, now leans, and none may yet set it right.
